Polygon Labs releases Type 1 zkEVM prover
On February 9th, Polygon Labs announced a collaboration with Toposware to develop a new Type 1 zkEVM prover. It is reported that the Type 1 zkEVM prover allows any network compatible with the Ethereum EVM standard to become a second-layer network supported by zero-knowledge proofs and connect to Polygon's broader network ecosystem. The Type 1 zkEVM prover can even generate these ZK proofs for Ethereum mainnet blocks, with an average cost of $0.002-0.003 per transaction. The Type 1 prover is open source, available on GitHub, and licensed under MIT and Apache 2.0.
