Jupiter United Creation: The Bitcoin held by WBTC should not be used for other purposes, BitGo should clarify community doubts
Jupiter's co-founder Meow posted a "Letter to the New and Old Custodians of WBTC" on social media, stating, "When we started the WBTC project a few years ago, we chose Bitgo as our partner because we believed that having a partner fully dedicated to custody work was crucial for safeguarding Bitcoin." "But most importantly, under any circumstances, the Bitcoin behind WBTC should not be used for any purpose. I have no intention of judging Bitgo; they have indeed been excellent custodians so far and I believe they have the best intentions."
Meow believes it is vital for WBTC, the entire defi ecosystem and bitgo/bitglobal to clarify some things immediately: "1. Who exactly is part of multi-signature holding BTC? 2. Will BTC be used for any purpose? 3. What are the benefits of this collaboration for both parties? Is it beneficial for TRON to adopt WBTC? 4. How does cross-jurisdictional jurisdiction help? 5. Is it possible to invite a highly respected independent party into the multi-signature group while serving as communicator and signer?"
