The well-known CryptoPunk NFT was sold at a loss of nearly 10 million dollars, marking the largest transaction in nearly 30 days
The blockchain analysis platform Lookonchain reported that a cryptocurrency whale sold a CryptoPunk NFT for 4000 ETH (approximately $6 million). The investor had purchased the NFT a year ago for 4500 ETH (approximately $15.7 million). Since the price of ETH was $3509 at the time of purchase and has since fallen by 57%, the actual loss amounts to $9.73 million.
According to data from CryptoSlam, despite this significant loss, this transaction still ranks among the largest NFT transactions in the past 30 days. Currently, the floor price of CryptoPunks is about 43 ETH (about $68,000), which is more than a 61% drop from its historical high point of 113.9 ETH in October 2021. This transaction reflects an ongoing slump in what was once a hot blue-chip NFT market; Ethereum's NFT trading volume has dropped by over 53% in just one month.
