ZKsync: Further Investigation Confirms Only Airdrop Allocation Contract Affected, Comprehensive Incident Report to Be Released
ZKsync posted an update on the X platform regarding the progress of the incident involving the minting of approximately 111 million unclaimed ZK tokens, stating that further investigation confirmed the previous findings—this breach is limited to the airdrop allocation contract and no additional ZK tokens can be minted from this contract. User funds remain secure, and the ZKsync protocol, ZK token contract, all three governance contracts, and all active token plan cap minters were unaffected by this event. Investigation and recovery efforts are ongoing, and important progress will be shared in a timely manner, with a comprehensive incident report to be released to the community once the investigation is fully completed.
