Executive Director of the White House Cryptocurrency Council: The Amount of Bitcoin Held by the U.S. Government Is Currently "Not Open for Discussion"
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Bo Hines, Executive Director of the White House Cryptocurrency Committee, declined to disclose the amount of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government in the latest episode of a podcast. Previous reports indicated that the actual Bitcoin holdings of the U.S. government may be much lower than the 200,000 coins previously estimated by Trump’s cryptocurrency advisor David Sacks, amounting to only 29,000 coins. When asked about the specific figure, Hines stated that it is "not possible to discuss at this time," but confirmed that the government plans to increase its Bitcoin holdings in a "budget-neutral" manner. It is worth noting that, due to differences in asset classification, only Bitcoin that has been confiscated through completed judicial procedures can be counted as government assets, while Bitcoin that is still under seizure remains legally uncertain.
