Genopets is a gamified active lifestyle app on Solana that rewards users for walking and taking on daily challenges with their digital pets. The game is based on building a bond with your pet and taking care of it every day by taking care of yourself. Genopets aims to motivate users to live a more active lifestyle by tapping into the emotional connection between oneself and their pet. Genopets was released in 2021.
How Genopets (GENE) Works
Genopets is a Move-to-Earn game where players convert their steps into Energy and XP to evolve their digital pets. They can also mint or breed additional Habitats to sell or lease to other players, and rent it out to those who want to benefit from a Habitat. The game features a Habitat Management portal where players can harvest KI tokens and craft NFTs. Moreover, players can battle with friends around the world, featuring turn-based combat and mini-games to improve their cognitive skills.
Genopets employs a dual-token system, comprising GENE Token and KI Token. GENE Token is used for governance, staking, and in-game crafting, while KI Token is an in-game utility token used for crystal refinement, alchemy and crafting, and terraforming. Additionally, sGENE is a synthetic token that can be withdrawn from staked GENE Tokens for in-game use only and cannot be traded or swapped back for GENE Tokens.
