It is fully compatible with Ethereum and works with industry-standard Ethereum tools, DApps, and protocols. Moonriver requires the MOVR token to function, which is used for gas metering, incentivizing participants, facilitating on-chain governance, and paying transaction fees. The majority of MOVR tokens are owned by the community members, giving them control over the network's direction.
