What is Over (OVR)?
Over is an open-source AR platform built on the Ethereum blockchain. Being open-source means that every participant of the platform contributes to its growth, which makes the platform not creator-dependent and thus more resilient during hard market conditions. Users of Over can choose from a wide variety of AR content, from basic static 3D models to complex interactive sceneries.
The project was established in 2017 and has since had 1 million users. Its partners include Unity, Chainlink, Polygon, among others.
How Over (OVR) Works
The Over platform is made up of three layers:
- SDK provides tools to integrate 3D assets, experiences, and games to the platform. The tools are available for both tech savvy users and non-coder users.
- Map2Earn connects real-life locations with AR assets. This is also where OVRLand NFT is generated.
- OVRLand is the land of the real world mapped and divided into 300m2 hexagonal domains in the OVR world. These land pieces exist in the form of NFTs and can be owned or traded by users.
