Hong Kong's "Guidelines for Virtual Asset Trading Platform Operators" to take effect on June 1
According to the SFC's website, the consultation period on the proposed regulatory requirements for operators of virtual asset trading platforms licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission ended on March 31, 2023, and respondents generally supported the proposed regulatory requirements for licensed virtual asset trading platforms. The revised proposed regulatory requirements will take effect on 1 June 2023. The Commission notes that respondents expressed strong support for allowing licensed virtual asset trading platforms to provide services to retail investors. The Council will implement the proposal to allow licensed virtual asset trading platforms to provide services to retail investors.
