Chicagoland Opens Daily Bitcoin Contract Trading

CME Group announced that it has increased the expiration dates of its standard and micro contracts for Ether and Bitcoin to daily. Offering these new options contracts will provide market participants with greater accuracy and versatility in managing short-term bitcoin and ethereum price risk, said Giovanni Vicioso, global head of cryptocurrency products at CME.

CME Group announced plans to expand its cryptocurrency options contracts in both standard and micro Bitcoin and Ether contracts, pending regulatory review. Among other things, the new expiration dates for bitcoin and ethereu m futures options will offer Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday expiration dates. Micro Bitcoin and Ether futures options will add Tuesday and Thursday expiration dates to the existing Monday, Wednesday and Friday contracts.
