Bitcoin miners earned $184 million from transaction fees in the second quarter, more than they earned in the entire 2022, as the price of bitcoin soared and the BRC-20 token grew, Cointelegraph reported. According to a July 5 report from cryptocurrency analytics platform Coin Metrics, the figure represents an increase of more than 270 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023 and the first quarter to exceed $100 million since the second quarter of 2021. However, transaction fees accounted for only 7.7% of the quarter's total miner revenue of $2.4 billion.
