Justin Bons: ETH still remains with a meager capacity of around 100 TPS
Founder of the encrypted fund Cyber Capital, Justin Bons, posted on social media that ETH is still stuck at a meager capacity of around 100 TPS. Core developers can easily increase the limit within a month contrary to what Vitalik Buterin removed from the roadmap, which was "increasing L1 Gas limit". Although it is said that it can be proposed "at any time," this is incorrect, deceptive, and misleading. The core developers of ETH choose not to raise the limit while claiming that it does not depend on them. This is an erroneous abdication of responsibility as they could easily shift the blame onto validators. The fact is that political and dynamic aspects of ETH's Gas limit are much more complex. They are using decentralization as a shield to conceal their own centralized control over ETH governance, and the Gas limit serves as a perfect example because validators can change the limit within predefined increments but with high coordination thresholds. We have to question how realistic this really is: especially when most core developers oppose on-chain governance and many people are against increasing limits, which would lead to significant friction in making changes.
