JPMorgan: Spot Bitcoin ETFs May See About $62 Billion in Inflows Over the Next 2-3 Years

2024/03/07 21:00

According to a recent report by analysts at JPMorgan Chase, spot bitcoin ETFs could see inflows worth about $62 billion over the next 2-3 years. The analysts said that out of the total $3.3 trillion of gold used for investment purposes, only 7% (or $230 billion) is held in the form of funds, with the rest in the form of gold bars and coins. Using gold as a benchmark and applying the same volatility of 3.7 suggests that the potential size of a bitcoin ETF would be around $62 billion (i.e. $230 billion divided by 3.7), the analysts noted. They added that this represents a "realistic target" for the potential size of a spot bitcoin ETF over time, possibly within two to three years. However, the analysts note that most of the implied net inflows are likely due to the continued rotation of existing instruments to ETFs.
