Bloomberg Analyst: Ethereum ETF may not appear until the end of 2025
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said that due to the lack of meaningful interaction with potential issuers, coupled with Ethereum's unclear regulatory status, this means that a spot Ethereum ETF may not appear until the end of 2025. Faced with rejection, potential ETF issuers such as BlackRock, Fidelity or Ark Invest have two choices: either sue the SEC like Grayscale did for Bitcoin spot ETFs, or bring up litigation again later. Influencing factors include the U.S. election. If former President Trump wins a second term in the White House, the SEC may face leadership changes. The new chairman might be more friendly towards cryptocurrencies than Gary Gensler. If there is a new president, you can reapply and perhaps get approval. Or you could sue them instead. Either way, it would take an entire year to achieve this.
