Algorand Foundation's new advertisement criticizes BTC, ETH and Solana
The Algorand Foundation has released a new advertisement on YouTube titled "When Blockchain Meets the Real World, Only One Can Make It Happen". The ad shows a supermarket checkout counter where shoppers try to pay with three different cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. In the ad, the person trying to pay with Bitcoin is told by the cashier that he must wait because the transaction takes 27 minutes. The Ethereum payer is informed that this transaction will cost $112 in fees, while the shopper who chooses Solana cannot make payment as their transactions keep failing. Using Algorand to handle customer checkout queues results in "instant completion at low costs." This advertisement has been viewed over 700,000 times on X platform. One commenter said: "Algorand's operating speed is 21 TPS; it can't provide funds for its main explorers but spent more than $100k on advertising. This isn't how things should be done."
