Media reports, on Thursday Eastern Time, Jonathan Kanter, the top antitrust official at the U.S. Department of Justice, said that the department is closely monitoring deals made by artificial intelligence companies like OpenAI with content creators due to potential monopoly concerns. Kanter stated that AI companies need to "provide sufficient compensation for creators' works" in order to prevent other industries from collapsing.
