News on June 16th, Biden will join major congressional officials in Washington D.C. for a Bitcoin roundtable meeting. The proposed meeting led by U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna will discuss how to keep Bitcoin and blockchain innovation within the United States. According to a private email sent from Khanna's office seen by Bitcoinmagazine, U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna representing California's 17th Congressional District will hold a Bitcoin and Blockchain roundtable meeting in Washington D.C. in early July. Khanna's office described the upcoming meeting as the most important one so far between blockchain policy makers and innovative leaders. The roundtable is expected to be attended by officials from the Biden administration, House of Representatives, Senate, and American businessman Mark Cuban.The main goal of this conference is to develop strategies on how to "keep bitcoin and blockchain innovation in America". This move is seen as a response to former President Donald Trump's recent recognition of the bitcoin industry.In the past four years,the Biden administration has been hostile towards bitcoin and crypto industry.This upcoming round table marks a shift in Washington’s attitude towards cryptocurrency industry,and given khana’s party affiliation,this could represent warming sentiment among democrats.Earlier this week,it was reported that biden administration was negotiating accepting cryptocurrency donations through coinbase commerce.Previously,trump also began accepting donations through coinbase.
