Trump may be cryptocurrency industry's 2024 election hopeful
J.W. Verret, an associate professor at George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School, said cryptocurrency supporters may have only one choice in the 2024 U.S. presidential election - Donald Trump. The Joe Biden administration has taken several steps to crack down on cryptocurrencies, including encouraging banks to cut ties with cryptocurrency firms, treating developers as brokers, and suing privacy protocol developers. In contrast, the Trump administration's nominees such as CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo and SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce are known for their support of cryptocurrencies. If re-elected, Trump is expected to continue to support the cryptocurrency industry.
