Binance Money Laundering Trial in Nigeria Adjourned as First SEC Witness Cross-Examined and Detained Executive's Health Deteriorates
The first witness from Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission has been cross-examined in the money-laundering trial against Binance and its executives. The trial has been adjourned until July 5, and Tigran Gambaryan's family has reported that his health is deteriorating in jail. Despite court orders, the prison holding Gambaryan has not released his medical records from a month ago, and his family is urging for his release. Gambaryan, who has been detained since February, is the head of financial crime compliance at Binance and is being held in the same prison as members of terrorist group Boko Haram.
