U.S. House Cryptocurrency Supporters Call for Crypto-Asset Friendly Party Platform
More than a dozen Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives and a long list of candidates for congressional seats are pushing their national committees to take a pro-cryptocurrency stance, according to a letter they sent Saturday. The letter, signed by lawmakers including Representatives Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Wiley Nickel (D-NJ), Ritchie Torres (D-NY), and others, demands a “forward-looking approach,” requiring their parties to add supportive language to their official platforms, pick a pro-cryptocurrency vice presidential candidate, and replace Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Gary Gensler with a pro-cryptocurrency agency head.
