Latest investigative report on Trump campaign rally assassination: multiple failures by U.S. Secret Service
On 25 September local time, the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs released an investigative report on the assassination of Donald Trump at a campaign rally in July this year. The findings of the investigation said that the incident was ‘foreseeable and preventable’, the Secret Service and other security agencies in the planning, communication, security and resource allocation, there are multiple failures. U.S. Senator Gary Peters, Democrat of Michigan and chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said the consequences of those failures were horrific. Investigators found that there was no clear chain of command between the Secret Service and other security agencies. In addition, officials operated on multiple, separate radio channels, leading to communication breakdowns.
