OpenAI plans to gradually increase the monthly fee for ChatGPT to 44 US dollars within the next five years
According to Engadget, OpenAI plans to raise the monthly fee for ChatGPT to $22 by the end of this year and gradually increase it to $44 within the next five years. Based on investor materials obtained, OpenAI's revenue in August this year was $300 million, expected to reach $3.7 billion by the end of the year. However, due to expenditures such as wages, rent and operating costs, OpenAI is projected to lose $5 billion this year. To address financial shortfalls, OpenAI is seeking new investments at a valuation of $150 billion and may raise up to $7 billion. In addition, OpenAI is transitioning from a non-profit organization into a profit-making company in order remove investment return caps and attract more high-value investors.
