Indian Man Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for $20 Million Fraud by Faking Coinbase Website
On October 18, a U.S. court sentenced Chirag Tomar, a 31-year-old Indian man, to five years in prison and will serve two years of supervised release after completing his sentence. tomar stole more than $20 million by posing as a Coinbase cryptocurrency trading site. tomar has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and will serve his sentence in a federal prison.
