Powell: Unemployment rate has fallen in past three months, remains low
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said the unemployment rate has fallen in the past three months and remains low. If there were no storms and strikes, hiring would be ‘a little higher’. He also said that the economy was supported by improved supply conditions and that consumer spending growth remained resilient.
