Dot Matrix Interpretation: The Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates twice by 2025

On December 19, the median of the Federal Reserve's dot plot in December showed that the Fed expects to cut interest rates twice in 2025, each time by 25 basis points. This is a decrease from September's expectation of four rate cuts, each by 25 basis points. The Fed also anticipates two rate cuts in 2026, each by 25 basis points, consistent with its expectations in September.
