ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood predicts Bitcoin could reach $1.5 million by 2030, driven by increasing institutional adoption and growing recognition of BTC as a valuable asset class. Despite recent price fluctuations, Wood believes Bitcoin's chances of hitting this target have improved as more institutions consider adding it to their portfolios.

ARK Invest’s Big Ideas 2025 report outlines three possible scenarios:

Bull case: A 58% annual growth rate, pushing BTC to $1.5 million.
Base case: A 40% CAGR, leading to $710,000 per BTC.
Bear case: A 21% CAGR, resulting in $300,000 by 2030.

Wood emphasizes that institutional exchange-traded funds (ETFs) could further boost Bitcoin’s price as large financial players allocate capital into the crypto market. However, analysts note that BTC must break decisively above $100,000 to maintain momentum.

Additionally, a potential supply shock—with only 2.5 million BTC left on exchanges—could further drive Bitcoin’s price upward. Traders anticipate a short-term test of $106,500 if Bitcoin surpasses $100,000, but failure to do so may result in a dip to $95,000.

BTC and ETH futures both saw declines in open interest and trading volume over the past 24 hours, with ETH experiencing a sharper drop. BTC open interest fell by 0.31%, while ETH dropped by 1.45%, indicating a stronger reduction in trader positioning for ETH. Trading volume for BTC futures decreased by 21.29%, whereas ETH futures saw a steeper 32.40% decline, suggesting lower market activity for ETH. Liquidations were higher for ETH longs ($17.67M) compared to BTC longs ($15.23M), while BTC shorts faced more liquidations than ETH shorts. The long/short ratios remain close for both assets, with a slight short bias, and BTC maintains a marginally higher funding rate (0.0068% vs. 0.0057%).
