Data: In the past 90 days, only 17 tokens such as BERA and BGB that are in the top 100 market value have outperformed BTC
ChainCatcher reports, according to CoinMarketCap market data, among the top 100 tokens by market cap, only 17 tokens have seen a rise of more than BTC in the past 90 days. These include BERA (+499%), IP (+81%), and BGB (+78%). Meanwhile, BTC's performance over the same period was -15%.
It is understood that the Altcoin Season Index is a new feature launched by CoinMarketCap to measure altcoin popularity. It calculates how many of the top 100 assets by market cap have outperformed BTC.
If this value is approximately above 75, then it's likely an Altcoin Season; if below 25, it's probably Bitcoin Season. Since February 27th, this index has been below 25 for twelve consecutive days.
