Vanguard Group CEO says American exceptionalism has "definitely" not peaked yet
Trump's chaotic policies are prompting some investors to "sell off US assets," but Vanguard Group CEO Salim Ramji says he still believes in the underlying strength of the US economy. When asked if the American exceptionalism has peaked, Ramji replied, "Absolutely not." This view is increasingly at odds with a growing consensus that believes the decades-long dominance of US investments is coming to an end. Ramji said that despite investors selling off various US assets in recent weeks, Trump's trade policies do not signal the end of the US economy's dominance in the financial sector. He said, "We definitely see this in the flow of funds, in the behavior of clients, and in the investment philosophy of our own team."
