Hamak: The Federal Reserve Should Remain Patient with Policy
Federal Reserve's Hamak on Thursday called for patience in monetary policy amid high uncertainty, but did not rule out the possibility of changing monetary policy before June if data shows action is necessary. In an interview, Hamak stated, “We are closely monitoring the data, and at every meeting, I will consider with an open mind whether it is right to remain patient or to take action now.” She said, “If we have clear and convincing data before June, and we know which action is correct at that time, then I believe the committee will take action.”
