Trump says US-Russia talks were productive, White House officials expect US sanctions to remain
US President Trump posted on his social media platform "True Social" that US Middle East envoy Witkov had a productive meeting with Russian President Putin and made significant progress. Trump said he had briefed some European allies on the latest situation, and all parties agreed that the conflict must end. They will work towards this goal in the coming days and weeks. On the same day, a White House official said that Russia is eager to continue contact with the US. He expects that US secondary sanctions against Russia will still be implemented on the 8th.
