  • Investors voluntarily withdrew a class action lawsuit against Strategy Bitcoin, leading to a dismissal with prejudice.
  • Plaintiffs accused the firm of overstating Bitcoin profitability and misusing new FASB accounting rules.
  • Strategy holds 632,457 BTC worth $68.5B and remains a leading corporate Bitcoin treasury firm.

A class action lawsuit against Strategy, a major Bitcoin treasury firm, has been dismissed after investors voluntarily withdrew their claims. This decision effectively ends the legal dispute, as the court ruled that the case could not be refiled. The dismissal comes as a significant development for the company, which holds approximately $68.5 billion worth of Bitcoin.

Allegations Behind the Lawsuit

The class action lawsuit , filed in May 2025, accused Strategy of misleading its investors about the profitability of its Bitcoin investments. The plaintiffs, including lead investors Michelle Clarity and Mehmet Cihan Unlusoy, claimed the company failed to disclose the risks associated with its Bitcoin holdings.

Investors argued that Strategy’s leadership, particularly co-founder Michael Saylor and CEO Phong Le, overstated the stability and growth potential of its Bitcoin treasury. Additionally, the lawsuit criticized the company’s use of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) new accounting rules for cryptocurrency. Plaintiffs claimed Strategy did not fully disclose the impact of these rules on its financial statements.

The Dismissal and Its Impact

With the dismissal of the lawsuit, investors are unable to file the case again in court. This ruling, referred to as a dismissal with prejudice, closes the case permanently. For Strategy Bitcoin, this marks a legal victory, as the company is cleared of the allegations.

The firm, which has become one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin, has seen significant growth despite the legal challenges. Its stock has risen by over 150% in the past year, demonstrating strong investor confidence in its strategy of Bitcoin accumulation .

Strategy’s Role in the Bitcoin Market

Strategy Bitcoin has become a key participant in the crypto treasury industry since its acquisition of the Bitcoin started in 2020. Based on the most recent reports, the company possesses around 632,457 BTC, which is worth $68.4 billion.

Its policy of stockpiling Bitcoin on its balance sheet has drawn interest, with some hailing it a hedge against inflation, and others citing risks of Bitcoin volatility. Strategy still runs its treasury business despite the risks, taking advantage of its large Bitcoin holdings .

The future development of the company continues to be based on its current Bitcoin acquisition policy, which is intended to consolidate its market standing. The lawsuit was dismissed, and Strategy can proceed with its business without the legal burden any longer. Its Bitcoin reserves continue to be a key part of its financial policy, making the company a leading player on the cryptocurrency treasury market.
