Google is making Opal, its AI-powered app for generating web apps through text instructions, accessible in 15 additional countries. Now, users in Canada, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, Singapore, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panamá, Honduras, Argentina, and Pakistan can use the app to build mini web applications with simple prompts.

“When we first launched Opal in the U.S., we thought people would create basic and entertaining tools,” wrote Megan Li, senior product manager at Google Labs, in a blog post. “Instead, we were surprised by the number of advanced, practical, and highly inventive Opal apps users created. The creativity from these early users made it clear that Opal should reach more creators around the world.”

To use Opal, users simply describe the app they want to build, and the platform leverages various Google models to generate it. After the app is created, users can access the editor to adjust and personalize the workflow, including inputs, outputs, and generation steps. Each step can be reviewed or modified, and new steps can be added using Opal’s toolbar. Finished apps can be published online and shared with others, who can try them out using their Google accounts.

Alongside the wider rollout, Google revealed new enhancements for Opal.

The company shared that it has upgraded the debugging experience while keeping the platform no-code. Now, users are able to execute their workflow step by step in the visual editor or make adjustments to individual steps in the console. Errors are displayed exactly where they occur, providing immediate feedback and reducing uncertainty.

Google further mentioned that Opal’s overall performance has been notably improved. Previously, generating a new Opal could take five seconds or longer, but the process has now been accelerated for a smoother start. Additionally, users can execute multiple steps at once, enabling more complex workflows to run in parallel.

With Opal’s U.S. debut in July, Google entered a competitive space alongside platforms like Canva, Figma, and Replit, all of which offer tools that empower users without coding skills to create app prototypes.
