Global X: The Federal Reserve may cut interest rates in October and December
According to Golden Ten Data, ChainCatcher reports that Scott Helfstein, Head of Investment Strategy at Global X, stated that the Federal Reserve still has the possibility of cutting interest rates in October and December. However, investors should be prepared for a range of outcomes, as Fed Chair Powell is trying to keep all options open.
Helfstein pointed out that reports prior to the government shutdown showed that inflation was mainly driven by tariffs, housing, and utilities. The Fed's interest rate policy has limited impact on prices in these areas, which may allow the Fed to continue cutting rates even if overall inflation remains above target.
