Tether CEO: USDT Currently Reaches 6.25% of the Global Population
Jinse Finance reported that Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino revealed that the US dollar-pegged stablecoin USDT welcomed its 500 millionth user on Tuesday. This stablecoin provides a channel for transactions and savings for those excluded from the traditional banking system. Tether stated that this figure represents 500 million "real users," not simply the number of Tether wallets—which means that the current users of its stablecoin account for approximately 6.25% of the global population.
