Bitget Wallet supports using stablecoins to pay gas fees in a multi-chain environment
Foresight News reported that Bitget Wallet recently announced support for seamless payment of gas fees using stablecoins. Users can now directly pay network fees with USDT, USDC, or the platform token BGB on Solana, TRON, and major EVM-compatible networks, without the need to pre-hold or top up native tokens of each network (such as ETH, TRX, or SOL).
This feature automatically deducts the corresponding gas fees from the user's stablecoin or BGB balance during transactions, eliminating the need for additional top-ups or setting up a separate gas account. Currently supported networks include Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Solana, and TRON, with plans to expand to more public chains such as Plasma, Sei EVM, and Morph in the future. Previously, Bitget Wallet launched the "GetGas" feature, allowing users to pre-deposit USDT, USDC, ETH, or BGB to pay network fees, but still required separate top-ups. This upgrade further streamlines the process through mechanisms such as the EIP-7702 standard, Paymaster model, and energy leasing, enabling a gas payment experience without pre-deposits.
Bitget Wallet currently supports cross-chain swaps and trading services across 24 major blockchains. In the future, the wallet plans to extend the gas abstraction mechanism to cross-chain trading scenarios, aiming to promote a more seamless cross-chain and gas-free interaction experience for self-custody wallets.
