Cai Fengyi: Promote the trading of tokenized funds on virtual asset trading platforms; HKEX fund platform will add payment and settlement functions.
Foresight News reported, citing the Hong Kong Economic Times, that Choy Fung-yee, Executive Director of the Investment Products Division of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), announced that the SFC will introduce several optimization measures in the future, including promoting the trading of tokenized funds on Virtual Asset Trading Platforms (VATP), and enhancing the Hong Kong Stock Exchange fund platform with additional payment and settlement functions. Choy Fung-yee stated that secondary market trading of tokenized funds requires more regulatory or risk prevention measures, and the SFC is currently discussing appropriate measures with fund companies and relevant trading platforms. She added that the recent clarification that secondary trading of tokenized funds is exempt from stamp duty will help advance secondary market trading.
