HIVE Digital mining power reaches 23 EH/s, with its bitcoin output providing funding for AI transformation
ChainCatcher reported that HIVE Digital Technologies (HIVE) stated that as it ramps up production to generate revenue and fund the expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure, its bitcoin mining hashrate has reached 23 EH/s.
HIVE's mining hashrate has grown by 283% this year and is expected to reach 25 EH/s by the end of this month, thanks to the full deployment of hardware at its 100 MW hydroelectric park in Paraguay, which is powered by the Itaipu hydroelectric plant. In May, HIVE's mining hashrate had already reached 10 EH/s. Meanwhile, HIVE is converting some of its bitcoin mining facilities into liquid-cooled data centers suitable for AI. The company stated that after additional facilities in Toronto and Sweden are completed, its total number of GPUs is expected to increase from about 5,000 currently to 36,000 by the end of 2026.
Data shows that HIVE currently holds about 2,201 bitcoins in its treasury, making it the 34th largest digital asset treasury company.
