Global ETF issuance surges, with 15 new cryptocurrency ETFs launched in October
ChainCatcher reported that KobeissiLetter released a market analysis indicating that global ETF issuance is experiencing explosive growth. In October, the number of global ETF issuances increased by 19% year-on-year, reaching a record high of 137. This brings the total number of ETF issuances so far this year to 918, which is 25% higher than the full-year record of 736 in 2024.
In October, 95 new equity ETFs were listed, accounting for 69% of the total; 15 new cryptocurrency ETFs were listed, more than double the number in September. Leveraged equity and structured product ETFs accounted for nearly half of all new funds, totaling 67. At the current pace, the total number of ETF issuances for the entire year of 2025 will exceed 1,100, ushering in a new historical issuance boom.
