Kabir Narang Departs B Capital to Launch New Investment Venture

Kabir Narang, a founding general partner at B Capital and an early supporter of numerous Indian startups, has exited the global venture capital firm, as confirmed by both TechCrunch and B Capital.

Narang is preparing to introduce a new investment initiative in 2026, which will center on growth opportunities at the crossroads of technology, artificial intelligence, and international capital movement, according to a message he shared with founders and reviewed by TechCrunch.

Leadership and Achievements at B Capital

Since joining B Capital in March 2017, Narang played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategy for Asia from its Singapore office and served as chair of the global investment committee. During his time at the firm, he invested in prominent Indian startups including Meesho, Khatabook, CredAvenue, Bounce, and Bizongo.

“We are witnessing an unprecedented era of technological transformation, which also challenges investors to remain disciplined,” Narang wrote. “Artificial intelligence accelerates the journey from concept to execution. Founders who harness this speed, along with strong pricing strategies and improved unit economics, will create lasting value in the next wave.”

Future Plans and Continued Investment

While building his new platform, Narang informed founders that he is personally investing 1% to 2% stakes in select companies he believes have the potential for intelligent growth. This move indicates his ongoing involvement in early-stage investments as he develops a broader investment vehicle.

B Capital’s Response and Ongoing Strategy

B Capital confirmed Narang’s departure and stated that Eduardo Saverin, Karan Mohla, and Howard Morgan, together with the current team in South and Southeast Asia, will oversee the firm’s Asia portfolio moving forward.

“After more than eight years with the firm, Kabir Narang, who led later-stage growth investments in Asia, has stepped down to pursue new opportunities,” a spokesperson for B Capital said. “We appreciate his significant contributions and wish him continued success.”

About B Capital

Established in 2015 by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and former Bain Capital executive Raj Ganguly, B Capital invests across multiple stages in sectors such as technology, healthcare, and resilience tech. Headquartered in San Francisco, the firm manages over $9 billion through nine offices in the U.S. and Asia. B Capital also partners with Boston Consulting Group to offer strategic and operational support to its portfolio companies.

Narang’s Previous Experience

Prior to his tenure at B Capital, Narang spent nearly nine years at Eight Roads Ventures India, backed by Fidelity, where he served as managing director.

“B Capital remains fully committed to our strategy in Asia and our global platform,” the spokesperson added. “With strong leadership and a seasoned team across the region, we are well-positioned to support the next generation of innovative companies in our core markets.”

As of now, Narang has not provided a comment regarding his departure.
