A certain exchange launches x402 V2, supporting payments in different currencies through the same interface.
BlockBeats News, December 12, according to erik.eth, the head of development at a certain exchange, after millions of x402 payments, the team announced the launch of x402 V2. The new version aims to drive the development of internet-native payments with greater flexibility and more powerful features.
The new version standardizes network and asset formats, allowing servers to accept stablecoins and even fiat currencies across various networks through the same x402 interface—without the need to write custom logic for each network.
In addition, V2 introduces the concept of extensions in the x402 standard. Extensions allow for the structured transmission of additional optional data between clients, servers, and coordinators. This opens the door for authentication, multiple discovery mechanisms, and more features. The extension functionality enables developers to expand x402 without forking from the main specification.
