Nasdaq plans to extend stock and trading product hours to 23 hours
ChainCatcher reported that Nasdaq has submitted documents to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), planning to extend the trading hours for stocks and exchange-traded products (ETPs) from the current 16 hours per day to 23 hours per day, five days a week. The new trading hours will include: daytime trading session (4:00 to 20:00 ET), one-hour break (20:00 to 21:00), and nighttime trading session (21:00 to 4:00 the next day).
The entire trading week will start at 21:00 on Sunday and end at 20:00 on Friday. The opening and closing times of the existing regular trading session (9:30 to 16:00) will remain unchanged.
