Attention Investors Awaiting Altcoin Season: Experienced Analyst Reveals 2026 Expectations! “It Won’t Be Like the Previous Ones!”
While Bitcoin (BTC) broke record after record in 2025, altcoins generally had a bad year.
While hopes for an altcoin bull run are postponed every year, a major altcoin rally is expected in 2026.
However, one analyst stated that there will not be a widespread altcoin bull market in 2026, and that liquidity will only support a select few altcoins.
In a recent interview, CoinEx analyst Jeff Ko stated that the crypto market is unlikely to experience a broad-based altcoin bull market next year, similar to previous cycles.
The analyst predicted that instead of boosting all assets, market liquidity would concentrate in a small number of large altcoins with solid fundamentals and real-world use cases.
The analyst noted that this prediction does not mean there will be no rise, adding that even if a rise occurs, it will not be as strong as in the past. He cited the differing policy stances of major central banks as the reason for this.
“There won’t be a traditional altcoin season in 2026. Liquidity is likely to flow only into a small number of major cryptocurrencies that have proven real adoption and viability.”
Individual investors expecting a rise in all altcoins at this point may be disappointed. Liquidity will be much more selective than in previous bull markets.”
The analyst added that CoinEx’s base scenario is for Bitcoin to reach $180,000 by 2026.
