UAE announces end of counter-terrorism military presence in Yemen

According to Golden Ten Data on January 3, on January 2 local time, the UAE government reiterated in a statement its commitment to easing tensions in the Yemen region and ending the presence of its counter-terrorism military forces in Yemen. UAE government officials also stated in the statement: "Over the past decade, the UAE, at the request of the legitimate government of Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has acted within the framework of the Saudi-led coalition, making significant sacrifices to support the stability and security of Yemen, especially in combating terrorist organizations that threaten civilians and the wider region." The statement added: "In line with the approach of urging calm and de-escalation, the UAE has ended the presence of its counter-terrorism forces in the Yemen region."
