What is StepN (GMT)?
StepN is a leading Web3 Move-to-Earn fitness dapp on Solana. The dapp allows users to earn cryptocurrencies by walking, jogging, or running with NFT sneakers.
StepN was created by Jerry Huang and Yawn Rong, two developers from Australia. It gained massive recognition from blockchain experts in Solana Ignition Hackathon Gaming Track 2021 and won the fourth prize.
How StepN (GMT) Works
To play the games, users have to buy NFT sneakers. These sneakers have four stats, which are Energy, Resilience, Luck, and Comfort. While all of them affect the earning level of each user, the most important is Energy, because it represents the amount of time a user has each day to move to earn GST tokens in StepN. At the beginning of the game, a new player is given two Energies, which means they have only 10 minutes to earn tokens in the game each day, and they have to wait 24 hours for the Energies to replenish. To have more Energies, you need to buy more NFT sneakers.
How Many StepN (GMT) Tokens Are in Circulation?
The game has two native tokens, GST (Green Satoshi Token) and GMT (Green Metaverse Token).
GST is the in-game currency, which users can earn by moving and use to buy NFT sneakers, upgrade sneakers, as well as open mystery boxes.
GST is the governance token of StepN. Players can earn GMT by owning Rainbow sneakers. GST has a hard cap of six billion. Only 10% is being circulated right now, which is 600,000,000 GMT.
