Xiaomi responds to allegations of "fake zoom ring" on Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition
Golden Ten Data reported on January 2 that a spokesperson for Xiaomi stated that recently, a large number of social media accounts have posted videos that take the content of a teardown of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition by a certain teardown blogger out of context and misinterpret it, claiming that "the zoom ring is fake and controlled by software." This statement is seriously inconsistent with the facts. In response to the malicious distortion and misleading dissemination, the original teardown blogger has already published a clarification. Regarding the structural principle of the zoom ring, we clarify as follows: The mechanical structure of the zoom ring on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition is complex and precise. By rotating the external zoom ring, the internal gear set is driven to rotate. The small gears in the gear set drive the gear shaft, and the optical displacement sensor on the side of the telephoto module detects the displacement of the shaft, which can accurately identify the rotation angle of the zoom ring and convert it into an electrical signal, achieving an innovative physical rotation control for mobile phone zoom. At the same time, the zoom ring also supports user customization, such as adjusting EV, filters, etc., allowing different users to choose their most commonly used adjustment parameters.

Ukrainian President Zelensky condemns Russian missile attack on residential area in Kharkiv
Golden Ten Data reported on January 2 that Ukrainian President Zelensky posted on social media, stating, "Russia has launched a horrific attack on Kharkiv. Preliminary reports indicate that two missiles directly hit residential buildings, with one building severely damaged. Rescue operations are currently underway, and all relevant departments have been urgently mobilized. The exact number of casualties is still unclear, and the emergency services, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as Kharkiv city and regional authorities, will continue to provide updates. Unfortunately, this is exactly how Russia treats lives and people—despite the many diplomatic efforts made by the international community, especially the United States, they continue to cause bloodshed. Only Russia is unwilling to end this war and is doing everything possible to maintain daily conflict. Therefore, the international community must continue to support Ukraine. Every day, we need to strengthen our air defense capabilities, reinforce our defensive positions, and do everything possible to protect the lives and safety of our people."
